Hey, I'm Damon Millar. I'm an accountant, fractional CFO, and business advisor. I help business owners grow profits, reduce tax, and build lasting wealth, and I help accounting firms run a more proactive, higher-value practice.

I built this playbook after going AI-native inside my own firm. The problem is the same everywhere: good people jumping between tools with no system, testing random prompts, and getting mediocre results. Nobody gave them one place to learn each tool properly for the work an accounting practice actually does.

This is the full pack. 250 tips, prompts, shortcuts and frameworks across 5 sections. Every one has been used on real client work, not demo data.

⚠️ Client data comes first. On personal ChatGPT Free/Plus and Claude Free/Pro accounts, switch off model training (ChatGPT: Settings → Data Controls; Claude: Settings → Privacy). Better: use the Team/Business/Enterprise tiers, which don't train on your data by default. Anonymise before you paste. "Client A, manufacturing, £1.2m turnover" works as well as the real name.

  1. One tool per job, not one tool for everything. ChatGPT and Claude for drafting and reasoning, Copilot for anything living in Excel and Outlook, and a spreadsheet formula when a formula is faster than a prompt. The skill is knowing which.
  2. AI writes the first draft. A qualified human signs it off. Nothing tax-technical or client-facing leaves the building unreviewed. AI can't reliably verify its own numbers, and your name is on the output.
  3. Context beats cleverness. A mediocre prompt with your firm's real context (tone, templates, the client's numbers) beats a clever prompt with none. Load the context once, reuse it everywhere.
  4. Save what works. The moment a prompt gives you a good result, save it. A prompt you rewrite from scratch every time isn't a system, it's a party trick.
  5. Measure the hours back. If a workflow doesn't save real time or lift real quality, drop it. Busy-looking AI use is still busywork.

How to Use This Playbook

Work through one section at a time. Don't try to adopt all 250 tips in a week. Pick the five that hit your biggest time-sink, use them until they're habit, then come back for five more. The firms that win with AI aren't the ones who know the most tricks. They're the ones who turned a handful of them into standard operating procedure.
